We are seeking a Befriender Volunteer to visit a client in Hellesdon who is struggling with low mood and would benefit from regular company.

We are seeking a volunteer Befriender to support a client in the Hellesdon area. Our client is struggling with low mood and isolation and would very much appreciate some support taking her dog out for walks in the local area. The dog in question is very friendly and well behaved.

If you can spare a couple of hours a week or fortnight, are friendly and chatty, and are looking for a rewarding and fulfilling volunteering experience, this might be the role for you.

As a Befriender Volunteer for Vision Norfolk you will be part of our Community Outreach Team and will play a valuable role in providing much needed social interaction, and easing the loneliness of isolated adults with sight loss.

This is a purely social role; you will not be required to perform any personal or medical care for you befriendee.

Our service is only able to run Monday - Friday 9am to 5pm, so you will need to be available during these times.

Our volunteers must be caring, able to communicate well and enjoy meeting new people, whilst helping our clients to remain as independent as possible.

Becoming a volunteer is a wonderful opportunity to make a difference and support your local community.

Vision Norfolk also offers:

Regular advice, support, and training

Payment of out-of-pocket expenses agreed in advance
