As a tandem pilot, you will assist our vision impaired clients by piloting our tandem bicycle, allowing them to experience the joy and freedom of cycling.

Vision Norfolk aims to improve the confidence, skills and social engagement of vision impaired people of all ages in Norfolk by delivering high-quality services and practical and emotional support which enables them to live independent and fulfilled lives.


As a tandem pilot, your main responsibilities will be to


  • adhere to all of Vision Norfolk's health and safety and safeguarding policies
  • safely steer, brake, navigate and make safety decisions in traffic when out on a ride
  • communicate effectively with the client during the duration of the ride calling out turns, stops, bumps, hazards, notification of braking and maintaining steady verbal communication to build trust and confidence.


We are looking for strong, confident cyclists with good communication skills and with a good level of fitness. Experience of riding a tandem would be preferable.
