Summary
Volunteers are needed to help the Physiotherapy Team to support patients with activities and exercises. Every Friday 2-4pmDetailed description
As a group support volunteer you will help the Physiotherapy Team by providing practical support to set up and tidy away activities and equipment for a weekly Cardio Clinic Exercise Group. As well as this, you will help by providing a warm welcome to patients and encourage and motivate them during their activities.
You will need to be available to volunteer on a weekly basis on Fridays from 2-4pm.
Your tasks can include:
- Helping with organisation of admin tasks – scanning/printing group paperwork
- Transporting Patients in wheelchairs to/from the gym
- Motivating patients to complete exercises
- Assisting with activities and equipment within the sessions, as appropriate
A member of the Physiotherapy Team will be present throughout the sessions.
To volunteer with the NCH&C you will need to complete some training, a DBS check and you will need to provide 2 references. The recruitment process can take around 6 weeks.
