Summary

Volunteers are needed to have a chat with patients on the ward and to provide basic practical support to busy members of staff.

Detailed description

Volunteers are needed to engage with patients on the ward, with activities such as:

  • offering companionship
  • encouraging patients to complete their simple prescribed exercises
  • taking patients out in the garden areas
  • providing practical support such as taking messages to members of staff


Volunteering for this role involves an ongoing commitment of approximately 1-2 hrs a week on a weekday morning or afternoon.


To volunteer with us, we will need you to complete our volunteer recruitment, including our Volunteers' Induction Training, completing a Standard DBS check, and providing 2 character references.


You will be supported throughout your volunteering by a member of staff onsite and your NCH&C Volunteer Coordinator.
