Summary

Supporting visitors to the ward and helping ensure the reception area is welcoming and enjoyable for visitors, patients and staff.

Detailed description

By volunteering in this role, you will help ensure visitors and family members benefit from having a dedicated person to provide access to the unit and make them feel welcome. You can also support the team by carrying out basic practical tasks.


By carrying out this role you will be enabling staff to maximise the amount of time they can spend focusing on patients.


Activities you may be asked to carry out in this role:

  • Welcoming visitors and directing/escorting them to patients​
  • Gathering feedback from patients and families​
  • Ensuring information displayed in the area is kept updated​
  • Helping keep the space clean , tidy and welcoming​
  • Carrying out small practical tasks such as sanitizing touch points


This is an evening and/or weekend role only, you will be expected to commit to a weekly session.


To volunteer in this role you will need to provide us with 2 references, complete a DBS check and complete mandatory training.
