Summary

Work as part of a group to interact with NHS volunteers gather media content for use in activities to promote volunteering across the NHS in Norfolk & Waveney.

Detailed description

The Volunteer Stories Project seeks to gather and share the experiences of volunteers in the healthcare sector, the healthcare staff who work with these volunteers and the people they have supported. By sharing these Volunteer Stories widely, the project aims to help boost volunteer recruitment and enhance the profile of volunteer services across Norfolk & Waveney.

The Volunteer Stories Project Volunteer will work as part of a group to interact with volunteers, gathering audio-visual and written content and creating materials for use in social media, communications, marketing and engagement. The role can be undertaken as an individual, or alongside fellow volunteers.

Volunteering for this role involves a commitment for the duration of the project until completion. Weekly commitment will vary, but an average of 2-4 hours per week would be anticipated over an approximately 8 week period. The project will involve 2-3 sessions at NHS and partner Voluntary Sector Community and Social Enterprise organisations to meet and interview volunteers and staff, followed by creation of the content flexibly from home.

Key responsibilities may vary from session to session and any variations will be discussed with you as needed, but they will be tasks suited to your skills and experience, agreed in advance, including:

• Written content including blogs, articles or short stories

• Creating video content for use on TikTok

• Photographing volunteers

• Creating audio content for radio/podcasts

• Interviewing volunteers about their experiences

Activities undertaken by volunteers will not be used as a substitution for that of paid staff. Volunteers will not be asked to help in ways which facilitate a decrease in paid employment. The work of volunteers will always be to complement and not supplement that of paid employees of the Trust.
