Volunteers are needed to engage with patients on the ward, with activities such as:
- offering companionship
- reading to patients or taking the library trolley round
- encouraging patients to complete their simple prescribed exercises
- taking patients out in the garden areas
- providing practical support such as taking messages to members of staff
Volunteering for this role involves an ongoing commitment of approximately 1-2 hrs a week on a weekday morning or afternoon.
To volunteer with us, we will need you to complete our volunteer recruitment, including our Volunteers' Induction Training, completing a Standard DBS check, and providing 2 character references.
You will be supported throughout your volunteering by a member of staff onsite and your NCH&C Volunteer Coordinator.
