West Norfolk Befriending matches isolated older people with a volunteer befriender who will call or visit on a regular basis.

West Norfolk Befriending is looking for volunteers to visit or call older people who are socially isolated because of changes to their physical health, or through their role as a carer.

Do you enjoy meeting people? Are you positive, honest, and have a good sense of humour? Are you able to respect people's differences and be confidential?

Our volunteers visit or phone clients by appointment every fortnight for a friendly chat and companionship. We ask our volunteers to schedule visits during office hours so that we are available for support if needed.

West Norfolk Befriending provides a full induction, individual support, and regular opportunities for training and to meet other volunteers.

Our clients say "My volunteer is a glimpse of light in an otherwise dull world".

Our volunteers tell us "I'm helping individuals not a big organisation".

West Norfolk Befriending has been supporting socially isolated older people since 2002 and we are proud holders of Befriending Network's Quality in Befriending award. We are a small friendly team and we welcome applications from across the community.
