Are you a keen historian? Art lover? love meeting new people? We're looking for volunteers who assist and engage with visitors to our art exhibition and events.

As a Gallery Host and Visitor Experience Guide, you will play a key role in welcoming audiences, enhancing their engagement with the artwork, and ensuring a memorable and enjoyable event experience. 

 

Outline of activities include:  

  • Greeting visitors on arrival; assisting with car parking, checking tickets and signposting visitors to facilities, rooms and event locations 
  • Answer questions about the art installation, estate and events 
  • Supervise installation spaces to ensure artwork is safe and respected. 
  • Gently remind visitors of handling rules (e.g., no touching, photography guidelines). 
  • Monitor visitor flow and help avoid congestion around exhibits. 

 

Personal qualities and experience:  

  • Warm and approachable 
  • Flexible and adaptable 
  • Confident speaking to groups of visitors 
  • Remains patient during busy periods or unexpected challenges 
  • Can follow safety procedures and remain calm in the event of an emergency

Time Commitment:  

The art exhibition opens Wednesday to Sunday (inclusive) from 11am to 4pm. We are looking for volunteers who can commit to regular shifts, on Satrudays and Sundays, ideally two a month for the duration of the exhibition which closes in November. Available shifts are, 11am to 1pm, 1pm to 4pm or 11am to 4pm (with lunch/comfort breaks).
