Are you a keen historian? Art lover? love meeting new people? We're looking for volunteers who assist and engage with visitors to our art exhibition and events.

As a Gallery Host and Visitor Experience Guide, you will play a key role in welcoming audiences, enhancing their engagement with the artwork, and ensuring a memorable and enjoyable event experience. 

  

Outline of activities include:  

  • Greeting visitors on arrival; assisting with car parking, checking tickets and signposting visitors to facilities, rooms and event locations 
  • Answer questions about the art installation, estate and events 
  • Supervise installation spaces to ensure artwork is safe and respected. 
  • Gently remind visitors of handling rules (e.g., no touching, photography guidelines). 
  • Monitor visitor flow and help avoid congestion around exhibits. 

 

Personal qualities and experience:  

  • Warm and approachable 
  • Flexible and adaptable 
  • Confident speaking to groups of visitors 
  • Remains patient during busy periods or unexpected challenges 
  • Can follow safety procedures and remain calm in the event of an emergency

Time Commitment:  

The art exhibition opens to members of the public from 20th May 2026 and will open daily thereafter on Wednesday to Sunday (inclusive) from 11am to 4pm. We are looking for volunteers who can commit to regular shifts, ideally one or two shifts a week for the duration of the exhibition which closes in November. Available shifts are, 11am to 1pm, 1pm to 4pm or 11am to 4pm (with lunch/comfort breaks).
