Volunteers needed for lots of different roles within our charity. If you love greyhounds we would love to have you help us.

We are a small independent charity finding homes for retired racing greyhounds and looking after them in our kennels until we do.

The only paid employees at Homefinders are the Kennel Manager and her staff; everyone else is a volunteer. We have people who come and walk our kennel dogs twice a day, volunteers who help man our stand at lots of events during the summer raising money and spreading the word about adoption, people who make things for us to sell, people who help at our open days at the kennels. In fact a whole host of individuals who love these wonderful hounds.

We are always fundraising so would love to hear from anyone interested in helping at the events we attend during the year.. We are hoping to encourage new helpers at outdoor events which are generally local fetes, dog shows, and carnivals and collections at supermarkets, pet stores and garden centres.

We would also like to distribute more information about our charity to local solicitors as we know that people often ask about leaving a gift in their will to rehoming charities. If you work in any of our local towns and could help with this then please get in touch.

Grant applications are also important to us so if you have expertise in this area and can spare some time to assist our applications we would love to hear from you.

Finally we would very much like to operate a small online shop. If this appeals then please get in touch. In this volunteer role there would be a need to have easy access to the kennels for managing postage and other admin.

Of course we are also delighted to hear from you if you fancy walking a dog.. Our kennel dogs are walked twice a day, every day rain or shine. Dog walkers are a friendly bunch and you will be most welcome.

We aim to create a friendly and welcoming environment where all our volunteers feel valued whatever they do and however much time they are able to commit.
