We are looking for Volunteer Trustees to help provide strategic leadership and governance support for Scouting across Norfolk.

As a Volunteer Trustee you will work together as part of a team to support Scouting locally in Norfolk.

The type of skills we need applicants to have include:

  • Governance and Strategy
  • Experience of Policy Writing / Business Acumen
  • Finance, Accounting and Investment
  • HR / Safeguarding / Safety / Risk Management
  • Property, Land and Lease Holdings
  • Organisation, Administration and Time Management
  • Conflict Management and Effective Decision Making
  • Great Communication Skills and Emotional Intelligence
  • Ability to Deal with Complexity and Ambiguity
  • Management, Planning and Delivery

If you believe you have some of the skills we are looking for and wish to be considered, please get in touch detailing how you could use your talents and abilities as part of an effective team of Trustees.

This role would involve a number of meetings throughout the year (some online, some in person) and some tasks in between meetings which can be done at a time to suit you.

You don't need experience of Scouting to join as a Trustee as we are looking for a wide range of skills and experiences within our team of Trustees. As part of the role we ask volunteers to undertake a DBS check (paid for by us) and we offer some simple e-learning training to help set you up for success.

Norfolk Scouts has over 7,000 young people (aged 4 up to 18) & adult volunteers all enjoying the fun & adventure of Scouting. Volunteering as a Trustee is a great way of using your experience & skills to benefit the young people of Norfolk, and it is also great for your wellbeing, gives you skills for the future, and helps you make new friends (and memories).

Take the first step and reach out today as we need you.
