Our café needs someone willing to help make cakes, buns and other sweet treats. There's no need to commit to fixed hours or days, just when it suits you.

Our hospice café provides refreshments and homemade baked goods for patients, visitors, staff, volunteers, and for any special events. You'd help the catering team by preparing and decorating cakes and other sweet treats that make the café welcoming to customers. You'll be expected to make sure baked goods are of a high standard and keep to food hygiene, cleanliness and safety practices. Volunteers usually follow agreed recipes and portion guidelines, making sure ingredients are stored and handled safely. Labelling of ingredient and allergen information may sometimes be necessary, and some items will need to be packaged for sale or events. If you can spare a few hours a week to do this we'd love to hear from you - the hours are very flexible and you'd only be asked to help on weekdays.

About Tapping House

Tapping House hospice is committed to providing outstanding care for people in the local community living with life-shortening illnesses and to their carers, family and friends including bereavement support.
The support provided is tailored to the individual, encompassing their physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs in an understanding, caring and compassionate way, ensuring dignity is maintained throughout.
Care is delivered at the hospice in Hillington, either in the Inpatient Unit, at Day Therapy groups or one-to-one sessions at the hospice. Care is sometimes provided in people’s own homes. Our outstanding care services cost a staggering £6.7million to provide each year and this year alone we will need to raise £5 million to provide the care patients truly deserve. We rely on the majority of this coming from the support of local groups, businesses and individuals.
