Summary
Our seasonal fishing group needs volunteers - can you help our therapist run the sessions on Tuesday afternoons at Lynnsport?Detailed description
Support our Tulip Centre Fishing Group on Tuesday afternoons at Lynnsport.
As a fishing volunteer you’ll take part in group sessions, spend time talking to patients and help them handle their equipment. Some may be learning to fish for the first time. Others may have enjoyed this pastime, but due to their illness, have been unable to carry on - until now.
Lynnsport has a well equipped area set up for fishing - all equipment is provided. You don’t have to be an expert angler, just willing to help others handle rods, reels and their catches!
Ideally, you’ll come along most Tuesdays so that the group gets to know each other - but if you can only help out occasionally we’d still like to hear from you.
About Tapping House
Tapping House hospice is committed to providing outstanding care for people in the local community living with life-shortening illnesses and to their carers, family and friends including bereavement support.
The support provided is tailored to the individual, encompassing their physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs in an understanding, caring and compassionate way, ensuring dignity is maintained throughout.
Care is delivered at the hospice in Hillington, either in the Inpatient Unit, at Day Therapy groups or one-to-one sessions at the hospice. Care is sometimes provided in people’s own homes. Our outstanding care services cost a staggering £5.7million to provide each year and this year alone we will need to raise £4.1 million to provide the care patients truly deserve. We rely on the majority of this coming from the support of local groups, businesses and individuals.
