We are holding a recruitment event for our new shop opening!
We’re getting ready to open a brand-new hospice charity shop on Matsell Way in Dereham this autumn — and we’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to join our new team! 🛍️
Whether you love meeting and chatting with customers, enjoy creating eye-catching displays, or would rather be behind the scenes sorting donations, there’s a role for you.
As a volunteer, you could be:
✨ Welcoming customers with a smile
🛍️ Helping customers find something special
💳 Taking cash and contactless payments
👚 Sorting and preparing donated stock
🪟 Creating attractive window and floor displays
🧹 Helping keep the shop looking its best
No retail experience? No problem! We’ll give you all the support you need — we just need your enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved.
And with plenty of free car parking, getting to your volunteer shift couldn’t be easier.
Every item sold in our shop will help raise vital funds for hospice care in our local community. So, by giving us just a few hours of your time, you could help make a real difference to local people and their families. 💙
📅 Come and meet us!

About Tapping House
Tapping House hospice is committed to providing outstanding care for people in the local community living with life-shortening illnesses and to their carers, family and friends including bereavement support.
The support provided is tailored to the individual, encompassing their physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs in an understanding, caring and compassionate way, ensuring dignity is maintained throughout.
Care is delivered at the hospice in Hillington, either in the Inpatient Unit, at Day Therapy groups or one-to-one sessions at the hospice. Care is sometimes provided in people’s own homes. Our outstanding care services cost a staggering £6.7million to provide each year and this year alone we will need to raise £5 million to provide the care patients truly deserve. We rely on the majority of this coming from the support of local groups, businesses and individuals.
Applications closing in a month.
