Summary

We are recruiting for Volunteers to support women in the Criminal Justice System who are on probation (person on probation (POP)) and live in the community.

Detailed description

We are recruiting for Volunteers to support women in the Criminal Justice System who are on probation (person on probation (POP)) and live in the community. This role will support the WWC to facilitate group work and support the women on probation to attend appointments, fill in paperwork, access other services and help with life skills as required. Working with Anglia Care Trust and St. Giles Trust (SGT) Women’s Wellbeing Coaches (WWC), you will be empowering women in the Criminal Justice System with a range of support needs to reintegrate into their communities.

Volunteer role including main tasks/responsibilities:

·       As a volunteer you will support the group work facilitator in your region.

·       As a volunteer you will support the POP as directed by the WWC with low level support at appointments, with form filling and any other low level support with life skills the POP might need.

You will receive full training and be supported by the team at Anglia Care Trust. You will be able to attend service user support sessions and multi – agency meetings with our staff until you feel comfortable to work on your own with the support of our specialist team.

Our Volunteer team is drawn from a range of backgrounds, with an equally wide range of life experiences: nurses, social workers & parent’s right through to retired Police Inspectors and even criminology students. We welcome all applications even if you feel you have no relevant professional experience, if you are the right person with the right mind set, we will support you through training, shadowing and supervision.

A number of our volunteers have found volunteering to be a stepping-stone into a paid role, recently we have recruited 6 of our volunteers into paid roles ranging from our housing service to children & young people’s services. For many people volunteering has opened doors to new and exciting opportunities.

All mileage expenses are covered at 45p a mile.

People with Lived Experience are welcome to apply

If you can spare 3 hours a week between 9am - 5pm Monday – Friday then we would love to hear from you!
