Fancy being a conservation volunteer in the Broads for a day?

Detailed description

Come and try one of our Volunteer Action Days at Decoy Carr, near Acle

If you don't have time for long-term volunteering, Volunteer Action Days are the perfect way to get a taste of what’s involved in carrying out practical conservation managing the Broads.

October's activities include parking up at Acle Bridge then a minibus will take you to Decoy Carr where you'll help manage the vegetation on this special fen and woodland site, so that it becomes a great habitat for wildlife, such as insects and birds. All training, safety information and suitable protective footwear and gloves will be provided but you'll need to bring waterproofs, warm clothing, and food and drink for the day. Spaces are limited to 10 per day so book to secure a place.

About Broads Authority

Volunteering is a great way to make friends, get outside and contribute to the running of the Broads National Park. The Broads began their life as peat diggings which means that due to their human-made nature they're in need of maintenance all year round to benefit the wildlife, boaters, locals and tourists alike.
