Detailed description
As one of Norfolk’s largest grassroots youth football clubs, CJFC manages membership fees, kit costs, pitch hire, tournament revenue, and grant-funded activity across nearly 40 squads. The Assistant Treasurer plays a crucial role in helping the Treasurer keep these finances organised, transparent, and fully aligned with the club’s values: child‑centred, inclusive, and community‑focused.
This role is perfect for someone who is organised, trustworthy, and comfortable working with numbers. You’ll support the Treasurer, committee members, coaches, and age‑group leads to ensure that every penny is accounted for and the club remains financially sustainable for the children and families we serve.

- Provide regular financial updates to the Treasurer and Management Committee.
- Assist in monitoring budgets for each squad and club programme throughout the season.
- Support the processing of membership fees, sponsorship income, tournament revenue, and incidental costs.
- Ensure that financial matters remain a standing item at committee meetings and provide updates when required.
- Help uphold CJFC’s financial transparency and accountability standards as an FA‑accredited club.
ANNUAL / STRATEGIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in drafting the club’s end‑of‑year financial statements.
- Support the Treasurer in preparing documentation for annual reviews, audits or independent checks.
- Help generate the annual financial report for the AGM.
- Contribute to budget planning for the upcoming season — including squad growth, facilities, festival/tournament costs, and programme expansion (e.g., girls’ football, Comets).
- Assist with grant compliance and reporting where funding applies.
SKILLS & QUALITIES
- Highly organised and reliable
- Good with numbers and record‑keeping
- Honest, discreet, and trustworthy
