The Parent Champion programme is a great opportunity for parents to get involved in the community and support other parents.
Detailed description
Parent Champions use their experiences, skills, and knowledge with other parents, and help them access the information and services they need. They will also benefit from the training, mentoring, and networking opportunities that the programme offers. By volunteering as a parent champion volunteers can make a positive difference in the lives of other parents and children and gain valuable skills and confidence for themselves.
This is a flexible role to fit around your existing commitments and any out of pocket expenses are reimbursed. There are some two-day training sessions coming up soon at various venues across Norfolk or online via Microsoft Teams. Lunch and refreshments will be provided at all in person training, and travel expenses are reimbursed.
A Safer Recruitment policy is in place to safe safeguard children, young people and vulnerable adults. A DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will need to be undertaken in advance of the event to ensure that you do not have any convictions that mean that you are unsuitable for working with children. Most older convictions and those that do not affect your suitability for working with children are not considered relevant. DBS checks for volunteers are free.
