Restoring the Iron Duke is a project from Great Yarmouth Preservation Trust, in partnership with Zak’s and we need the local community to be part of it!
The focus is to create a drought-tolerant, eye catching outdoor scheme which will reflect the scenery of the North Denes dunes, and add to the experience for those enjoying the revived Iron Duke’s outside space.
Whatever your level of gardening experience, whatever your age or ability, we’d love to hear from you.
Gardening is a great way to start getting outdoors more, getting more active, meeting new people, and learning and sharing skills. It can also open doors to careers with the local authority’s parks and open spaces service, in retail, self-employment, and the environmental sector.
Set to open in early Autumn 2026, the Iron Duke aims to bring community cohesion, community pride, and community spirit to Great Yarmouth, giving all ages and residents somewhere to meet, eat, drink, relax, and create and celebrate friendships; why not volunteer for our gardening team, and be part of building community in Great Yarmouth from the very beginning.
