Summary

You don't need to be a runner to join this friendly volunteer group helping to organise the free weekly 5k community running event on Saturday mornings.

Detailed description

Parkrun events have a reputation for being fun and friendly community events, but Gorleston beach front, also has one of the best locations.

Parkrun events take place every week and everyone is welcome to volunteer! There are plenty of opportunities to try new roles, apply your skills or learn new ones, be with friends and family, meet people and be a part of the parkrun community...even if you don't want to run yourself!

There are a range of roles to choose from. Some can be combined with walking or running too. These roles include checking the safety of the running course, timekeeping, cheering on the runners, handing out position tokens, scanning participant barcodes and tail walkers, who check that everyone has safely finished the course.

You can volunteer alone or team up with someone else, and there are always people on hand to support you if you have any questions.

Every time you volunteer at parkrun, it gets you one step closer to official rewards for those who have volunteered 10 (for those under 18), 25, 50, 100, 250 or 500 times.
