Summary

The Trust, which preserves two historic fishing vessels as floating museums, is looking for a Treasurer and who will also sit on the committee as a Trustee.

Detailed description

The Trust aims to preserve and maintain its two historic fishing vessels, the 'Lydia Eva' and the 'Mincarlo' as floating museums, with the aim of interpreting the social history of Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft, together with the story of the vessels themselves. Both ships are the last of their kind and so their preservation is vital for the heritage of the local area.

The Trust, which has a turnover of around £20,000, is seeking a Treasurer to record income and expenditure, work with fundraisers to ensure that adequate funds are brought in, report to the Trustees and ensure that regulatory submissions are made in time. Perhaps most importantly, they provide a watchdog role over all aspects of financial management to safeguard the organisation’s long term financial position. Some experience of bookkeeping and budgeting or similar tasks would be advantageous.

This is a great opportunity to become involved in an iconic local charity and to gain experience of finance at a Trustee level.
