Events volunteers help raise awareness of diabetes and Diabetes UK at events around the country. The location of events range from market squares and high streets to big events such as county shows. Volunteers can also help out at conferences, sporting events and support days, providing a helping hand to reach people with diabetes in their local area. You will:


  • Talk to members of the public in a friendly and enthusiastic manner to raise awareness of diabetes and Diabetes UK
  • Offer appropriate Diabetes UK publications/materials
  • Answer general queries and signpost people to their GP if they are worried or would like further information
  • Encourage to visit our website for further information about how Diabetes UK can support them



The skills you need:


  • Confident speaking to members of the public
  • Good communication and listening skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Enthusiastic and outgoing
  • An interest in community-based health promotion
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Commitment to support the work of Diabetes UK and represent Diabetes UK in a positive way
  • A willingness to attend all briefings and trainings related to your role
