Summary

to lead or assit in wellbeing creative workshops within mental health, drug and alcohol and homless organisations

Detailed description

Evolving Canvases is a creative community interest company using art and photography workshops to support mental health, addiction recovery, and well-being. Our sessions are built around the Five Steps to Wellbeing and focus on creating a calm, safe, and empowering space for participants.

We're looking for empathetic volunteers with a creative background or experience in running workshops. This could suit teachers, community artists, or anyone confident in leading group activities. We have a set programme of workshops in place, so facilitators can either deliver existing sessions or bring their own ideas if appropriate.

Lived experience of mental health challenges or recovery is welcomed but not essential — what matters most is compassion, reliability, and a genuine interest in helping others through creativity.

These workshops have a real, lasting impact. They help people rebuild confidence, reduce isolation, develop self-expression, and find new purpose. Many participants tell us it’s the highlight of their week — a chance to connect, reflect, and grow in a supportive environment.

About Evolving Canvases

Evolving Canvases is a Community Interest Company (CIC) delivering creative well-being workshops for people affected by addiction, mental health challenges, or social exclusion. Our grassroots programme, Mindscapes, uses art and photography to support recovery and self-expression, with the Five Steps to Wellbeing embedded into each session. While not essential, we ideally welcome volunteers and facilitators with lived experience, as this often helps build trust and connection. Our workshops offer safe, supportive spaces where creativity becomes a powerful tool for personal growth and change.
