To support the delivery of a new IT Drop-In Service for local residents, helping them develop basic digital skills and navigate smartphones, tablets and laptops
Detailed description
We are looking for friendly, patient volunteers to help run a new IT Drop-In Service for local residents.
This service will support people with everyday IT questions and help build confidence using digital devices.
What you’ll be doing:
- Helping residents use smartphones, tablets and laptops
- Assisting with downloading and using apps
- Supporting access to emails and online accounts
- Helping people make video calls and use basic online services
- Offering simple, practical IT support in a relaxed, supportive environment
Skills we’re looking for:
- Confident IT user with experience across phones, tablets and laptops
- Patient, approachable and good at explaining things clearly
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Reliable and happy to work with people of all abilities
- No formal IT qualifications needed – just a willingness to help

It plays a transformative role in the lives of individuals and families by connecting people with services, opportunities, and each other, making it an invaluable resource for the entire community.
The Information Centre is open six days a week and is a trusted and accessible hub for support. We help individuals with digital access, navigating benefit applications, seeking employment, dealing with loneliness and those in financial hardship.
