About Home-Start Norfolk

Being a parent has never been easy. It can be lonely, frustrating, heartbreaking and overwhelming. Life-changing events can happen to anyone, that's why Home-Start Norfolk is ready to support families through their toughest times.

At Home-Start Norfolk, we believe parents have a key role in creating a secure, happy childhood for their children. Children raised in a positive, loving, stable environment are far more likely to have a positive, happy, healthy life. That’s why the support we give is so vital.

Home-Start Norfolk's volunteers work alongside families in their own homes, for 2-3 hours a week to give compassionate, non-judgemental support, tailored to each family. Our volunteers help parents and carers to develop their confidence and learn to cope with the challenges and stresses life has thrown at them. In doing so, parents are empowered to function effectively and independently in their day-to-day lives, building their resilience and better lives for their children.

Volunteers are fully trained and are given expert support and advice from their Family Support Coordinator.
