The Norfolk Green Care Network are looking for volunteers to help with the delivery of two key events this year, celebrating nature and community connection.

We are a volunteer-run network connecting green care projects across Norfolk and its neighbouring areas. We have received a small amount of funding to support the delivery of some exciting events in 2024, but we need help to make them happen!

What is Green Care?

'Green care' encompasses any activity or intervention that uses nature and experiencing nature as ways of boosting mental and physical health, and the members of our network range from allotments and care farms, through forest schools and community groups, to individuals with a passion for nature.

What are the events?

In recent years, we have organised a Norfolk Green Care Festival - listing nature-based events across the county, and hosting a Festival launch event to showcase the diverse work of our members. We have also held a successful 'Green Gathering', bringing speakers and Network members together for talks on aspects of green care, and for networking with one another.

How can you help?

We plan to hold our Norfolk Green Care Festival again this July, and another Green Gathering in September, but we are an organising committee of just four volunteers, all with other full time roles! We would really value help with any of the following:

  • Planning and organising the events - from brainstorming ideas to securing venues, and helping out on the day
  • Communicating with Network members to encourage them to get involved, principally via email
  • Helping to promote the events through social media, posters, and any other ways that work!

We are a small but friendly team. If you have a passion for events, the environment, community, and connection, we would love to hear from you!
