We are looking for a volunteer to help out fortnightly with our regular family craft sessions on Sunday afternoons at the Millennium Library.

Every Sunday afternoon we hold a session for families called Discover Sundays. The sessions start at 2.30pm and run until 4.00pm. We are looking for a further volunteer to join our group of staff and volunteers who lead the sessions.

The main duties include:

  • Welcoming people to the library and telling them what is happening that week
  • Helping to set up an activity and clear away when the session is finished
  • Helping make sure that all who are attending can take part – this may involve making sure everyone has the resources they need
  • Helping to demonstrate how to do a craft or activity
  • Promoting future activities that might be of interest to attendees

Volunteers should enjoy working with families and be able to communicate with a wide range of people. We are looking for a flexible and helpful approach to the activities with an emphasis on making everyone welcome. The role would suit someone who has an interest in going into childcare or teaching, or who has experience in this area.
