Summary

Volunteer for Norfolk and Waveney Mind's CHIME service; a holistic approach to mental health recovery.

Detailed description

Primarily you will be assisting in the delivery and facilitation of our CHIME recovery groups. Your role will be to orientate people to the building and once the group has started you will assist and prompt attendees through their recovery book in the group work. Think of it as a teaching assistant role, the work needed is fairly fluid and able to be done within your own comfort zone. An initial brief of what will be covered will be done before the session, so no prior knowledge is needed.

CHIME is a psychologically informed recovery program that people attend through Norfolk and Waveney Mind. CHIME stands for Connection, Hope, Identity, Meaning, and Empowerment. This approach acknowledges that we are all different and have different things that are important to us, but there are common ways that we can approach our interactions with the people, places, and things in our lives that will help us to cope with daily life and see a positive future ahead. An ideal person for this role would be engaging, able to communicate and have a basic understanding of mental health, either through lived experience or academic experience.
