Norwich Samaritans
Non-profit or charity
Norwich Samaritans have been supporting Norwich and central Norfolk for over 60 years. Every year, our 250 volunteers give over 30,000 hours to support those struggling to cope.

Listening Volunteers
Samaritans are here for callers when it matters ... and for each other too. You'll be welcomed into a warm and incredibly supportive environment.
"We will train, mentor and support you all the way"
You will experience ongoing support from a network of friendly volunteers in the branch, throughout your training and beyond.
"Even though I listen a lot in my job, I think Samaritans has made me a better listener. Samaritans has helped me realise that everyone has a story to tell and listening to them is a real privilege"
Support Volunteers
Our listening volunteers can't be there for our callers without the fantastic skills that our shop and support volunteers have to offer.
If you'd like to volunteer with us in any way, including being a shop, support or a listening volunteer please do get in touch.
If you're a great DIYer, can help with driving our van or fundraising then we'd love to have you.
What's going on in Norwich?
As well as delivering our listening service, we support HMP Norwich and HMP Bure by training prisoners to provide emotional support to their peers.
Our Outreach team regularly deliver talks and/or training at schools, local employers and community groups.
We also have three charity shops that help us to raise funds and awareness of our service in the local community. And of course, we host the occasional fundraiser.
