Norwich Samaritans is part of a nationwide charity that provides confidential emotional support to anyone in distress, struggling to cope, or at risk of suicide. Our local charity shops raise vital funds to keep this service running.

Are you a people person who loves chatting, helping others and making people feel welcome?

We’re looking for positive and enthusiastic Customer Service Volunteers to be a friendly face in our shops and help make sure every customer, donor and visitor receives a warm welcome.

What You’ll Do

As a Customer Service Volunteer, your main focus will be our customers, donors and visitors, helping to create a friendly, positive and welcoming atmosphere in the shop.

You’ll:

· Greet customers and donors with a warm and friendly welcome

· Chat with customers and help create a positive atmosphere

· Ask customers if they need any help and assist them in finding what they’re looking for

· Thank people for shopping with us and for donating items

· Help customers understand more about Norwich Samaritans and how shopping and donating supports our work

· Highlight new stock, displays or different areas of the shop

· Help keep the shop floor looking welcoming, tidy and inviting

· Support with other simple customer service tasks when needed

· Work alongside staff and other volunteers to make sure everyone receives a great experience

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need previous retail or volunteering experience. We’re looking for someone who:

· Is a real people person and enjoys talking to others

· Is friendly, positive and enthusiastic

· Is confident approaching and welcoming customers

· enjoys helping people and providing great customer service

· Is comfortable communicating with a wide range of people

· can help create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome

· could enjoy being a friendly ambassador for Norwich Samaritans

Full guidance and support will be provided, so you don’t need previous retail experience to get involved.
