Our shops are a great place to volunteer. You can meet new people and gain new skills knowing that all profits raised go towards your local Samaritans.
The Samaritans City Centre shops offer a friendly, community-focused environment where you can build confidence, develop retail and customer-service skills, and meet new people.
Your time helps raise vital funds that keep Samaritans’ listening services running, meaning every shift you support contributes to making a real difference in someone’s life.
We are looking for people to support us Monday to Saturday, particularly in the afternoons, including towards the end of the day until 6pm.
We offer a variety of shop-based volunteering opportunities, and you can choose to support one or more of these roles in coordination with the Shop Manager:
Stock Assistant: Sort donations, prepare clothing and other items for sale or promotion, steam clothing, organise stock, and replenish the shop floor.
Shop Floor Assistant: Provide customer service, maintain displays, restock merchandise, and support the day-to-day running of the shop floor.
Till & Customer Service Assistant: Welcome customers and donors, operate the till, process sales, and support Gift Aid activities where appropriate.
Donation Collections Assistant: Support donation collections and assist with workplace donation initiatives and community pop-up activities.
Whether you can volunteer regularly or occasionally, every contribution helps raise vital funds to support Samaritans' listening service.
