Detailed description

About the Event

The Social Enterprise Day Showcase is a celebration of the innovation, creativity, and impact of Norfolk’s social enterprises. Hosted by FUSE Network in collaboration with Norwich Unity Hub, the event will bring together local social enterprises, community members, partners, and funders for a day of connection, collaboration, and inspiration.

Volunteer Role

We’re looking for enthusiastic and friendly volunteers to help us make the Showcase a success. Volunteers will play an important role in creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring the event runs smoothly for everyone involved.

Key tasks

  • Event set-up and pack-down: Assisting with arranging stalls, signage, and seating before and after the event.
  • Welcoming guests: Greeting attendees on arrival and making sure they feel comfortable and included.
  • Directing people around the building: Helping attendees find stalls, workshops, toilets, and key event spaces.
  • Supporting stallholders and speakers: Offering assistance where needed (e.g. carrying materials, answering questions).
  • General event support: Chatting to guests, signposting to the right people, and being on hand to solve small issues as they arise.

What we’re looking for

  • Friendly and approachable, with good communication skills.
  • Reliable and happy to be part of a team.
  • Comfortable being on your feet and moving around a busy venue.
  • An interest in social enterprise, community, or local impact (helpful but not essential!).

What you’ll gain

  • Experience in events and community engagement.
  • A chance to connect with local social enterprises and partners.
  • Being part of a positive, inspiring day showcasing the best of Norfolk’s social enterprise community.
  • Lots of thanks from the Norwich Unity Hub and FUSE Network teams!

Time commitment

Volunteers will be needed for either:

  • Morning (set-up & event support): 9.00am – 1.00pm
  • Afternoon (event support & pack-down): 12.30pm – 5.00pm
  • You’re welcome to sign up for either or both slots.

What we will provide to volunteers

💸 Reimbursement of costs

Getting there

On arrival at Carrow House, follow the route through our gates to the right of the building, past the Orangery. Here you will see a large car park where you are welcome to leave your car for the duration of your visit. If you have access requirements, there are 6 disabled parking bays at the front of the building. Next head to our glass reception area on the left of the building, where you can sign in as a visitor and we'll come and meet you.
