Detailed description
We are looking for Café Volunteers to support the Priscilla Bacon Hospice Friends Café. Open 7 days a week 9:30am-4:00pm.
Sunday Morning or afternoon shifts available. 9.30am-1.30pm or 12.30pm-4.00pm.
As a volunteer, you’ll help create a warm and inviting atmosphere for everyone who visits our café – whether they’re patients, visitors, or members of the public. The Café serves a range of freshly made meals, cakes, drinks, and snacks.
Your role will include:
- Welcoming Café visitors
- Ensuring the café area is kept clean and tidy
- Taking orders and payments
- Serving food and drink to customer tables
- Restocking fridges and display areas
- Keeping menu boards and other café information up-to-date
- Working alongside other Café Volunteers
- Respecting the privacy of patients and families
- Full training will be provided
Whether you are looking to make new friends, develop skills, build confidence or make use of your spare time in helping others the Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity Team will make you feel welcome and part of their team.
By supporting our Café, you will be helping to raise funds for the Charity, enabling us to enrich care for those in palliative care and their loved ones. So please get in touch we would relish any help you are able to give.

About Priscilla Bacon Hospice
Priscilla Bacon Lodge has provided Specialist Palliative Care to people around Norfolk for 40 years. The new Priscilla Bacon Lodge opened in September 2023 and is home to a state-of-the-art palliative care unit. It has been built on an 8-acre site adjacent to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. Century Place Colney Norwich NR4 7YA. As well as inpatient beds, a day unit and a wellbeing centre, the Lodge will act as hub for community-based services, enabling people to receive care in their own homes. The 8-acre site has given the unique opportunity of delivering the landscape, garden, formal gardens and a wildflower meadow
