Join the Board of Tend Collective Community Interest Company and help shape a sustainable, relational approach to supporting children’s mental health in Norfolk

Help shape a sustainable, relational approach to supporting children’s mental health in Norfolk.

Tend Collective is a community interest company based in Norwich. We support children’s mental health by supporting the parents, caregivers and practitioners around them. Safe, healthy relationships are at the heart of our work.

Through therapeutic support, parent groups, workshops and welcoming spaces for independent practitioners, we help families access specialist support before things reach crisis point. Room hire provides an important source of income alongside grants and paid services.

As Tend grows, we’re looking for someone with financial expertise to join our board and help us build a sustainable future while staying true to our purpose.

What you’ll bring

  • Strong experience in accounting, financial management or financial strategy
  • Confidence interpreting financial information and asking useful questions
  • An ability to balance financial sustainability with our community purpose
  • An interest in mental health, community work or organisations driven by social purpose

You don’t need a clinical background. We value different perspectives and would welcome someone who connects with our relational approach.

What the role involves

  • Attending quarterly board meetings, with occasional input between meetings
  • Providing financial oversight as part of the board
  • Helping us develop budgets, forecasts and longer-term financial plans
  • Supporting decisions about income, funding and sustainable growth
  • Offering constructive challenge and helping us think clearly about opportunities and risks

What you’ll get

  • The opportunity to help shape a growing organisation at an important stage in its development
  • A collaborative role alongside a team committed to accessible, relationship-based support
  • The chance to use your financial skills to help more children and families benefit from support in their community

This is a voluntary, unpaid board director role.

If this sounds like a good fit- or you’d like an informal conversation before deciding- we’d love to hear from you.

Please get in touch with a brief introduction, an outline of your relevant experience and what interests you about Tend.
