We’re looking for someone with a passion for coastal community engagement to advocate for Under Open Sky Ltd, connecting connect us with your networks

Your skills and experience:

  • Experience in environmental, science, climate or marine sectors
  • Someone with a genuine passion and care for community engagement
  • A reliable and trustworthy person, with good communication skills, who can advocate for the organisation
  • Someone who has time each month to support the organisation to develop strategically and reach more people

Time commitment and remuneration:

On a monthly basis, we expect you could offer 2-3 hours of your time on a voluntary basis. This might include working on the following tasks:


  • Networking and strategic support, such as advocating for Under Open Sky within your networks, helping to spread the word about our work and connecting us up with the right people in your sector. This may also include preparing and reviewing funding bids or partnership proposals in-line with our values
  • Quarterly governance team meeting, which could happen remotely (e.g. Zoom) or face-to-face, as mutually convenient. This will be to track and update on actions, and make a plan for the following quarter and longer-term


We will review the time and commitment you can offer as an on-going process to make sure all parties are reciprocally benefiting from the relationship


This role is offered voluntarily. However, as a small but ambitious organisation, with your support, we will develop a strategy for bringing in sustainable income to benefit our social purpose. Therefore, in time, we could negotiate reasonable and appropriate remuneration. For example, this could include travel expenses or fees for offering expertise that directly impacts the programme, paid for through funding grants, donations and earned income, in-line with our social purpose and governance documents


This role will be offered for a notice period of 3 months initially and can be continued by agreement on a rolling basis, with a 2 month leaving notice period from either parties to allow time for hand-over and further recruitment
