If so we would love to hear from you.
Voluntary Norfolk has worked across Norfolk for over 50 years, linking people with causes and building resilient communities across Norfolk. We are in a period of intensive change and are seeking a new trustee to help us on this journey.
A trustee of Voluntary Norfolk is a volunteer who plays a crucial role in overseeing the charity's operations and ensuring it fulfils its mission. Trustees work together as a board, contributing their skills and experience to help guide the charity and make important decisions.
The trustee recruited in this round will have specific responsibility for overseeing safeguarding on behalf of the board. This does not involve day-to-day safeguarding responsibilities but instead means supporting the staff leads for safeguarding, providing counsel and being a conduit for reporting to the board.

Chair of the board of trustees, CEO, Executive Directors and DSOs.
You’ll be joining a team of committed and knowledgeable trustees who have a wealth of experience overseeing the work of Voluntary Norfolk and other organisations.
Skills and Experience
You will have had safeguarding training within the context of providing services to children, young people and/or vilnerable adults. Further specific training will be provided.
A strong commitment to the Voluntary Norfolk’s mission and values.
An individual who is trustworthy and reliable and consistently upholds ethical principles with a strong commitment to social justice. Also a strong commitment to integrity, transparency, and respect for others.
An ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to collective decision-making.
Good communication skills to effectively discuss and debate issues.
The confidence to act as a critical friend and provide challenge and scrutiny.
Trustees are expected to attend regular board meetings, usually held quarterly, and participate in additional meetings or events as needed. The role is voluntary but reasonable expenses may be reimbursed.
