Time Commitment: Minimum of 4 meetings per year

ASD Helping Hands is seeking a passionate and proactive individual to lead our Board of Trustees as Chairperson. This is a vital voluntary role where you’ll help shape the future of our organisation, ensuring we continue to make a meaningful difference to the lives of autistic individuals and their families across Norfolk and beyond.


About the Role

As Chair of Trustees, you will:

  • Provide strategic leadership to the charity and its Board, ensuring maximum impact for our beneficiaries.
  • Support and guide fellow Trustees in fulfilling their governance responsibilities effectively.
  • Ensure the Board works within the charity’s objectives and sets a clear, purposeful strategic direction.
  • Oversee the identification and management of key risks and opportunities.
  • Help maintain the financial health, transparency, and accountability of the charity.
  • Champion our values of inclusion, respect, and empowerment in all decision-making.


You will work closely with the CEO and Operations Manager, acting as a key ambassador for the charity while promoting positive governance and collaboration.


What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in leadership, governance, or working on a board (though not essential).
  • Is passionate about improving outcomes for autistic people and their families.
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can dedicate time to lead and support the Board’s work throughout the year.
