To bring the lived experiences of parents and carers to the Norfolk Autism Partnership Board’s work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend board meetings (6 per year) and workstream sessions as needed
  • Share insights on parenting, caregiving, service navigation, access, and outcomes
  • Participate in co‑production of priorities, strategy reviews, working groups, and consultation cycles
  • Feedback information from carer networks or forums to inform Board decisions
  • Uphold confidentiality, declare conflicts, and follow the NAPB Code of Conduct


Person Specification

  • Current or former parent/carer of an autistic person
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in representing carer voices in a strategic forum
  • Commitment to constructive participation, inclusivity, and co‑production principles


Time Commitment​

  • Attendance at approximately six board meetings per year (Normally 2 hours plus prep time)
  • Occasional participation in additional workstream or strategy sessions


Training and Support

  • You will need to complete the NAPB Autism Awareness E-Learning within three months of joining (per Terms of Reference)
  • One-to-one support via a buddy system, and reasonable adjustments provided as needed
