Purpose of the Role
To support the effective governance of the charity by helping ensure it meets its objectives, manages risk, and supports staff to deliver services that benefit the autistic community.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Chair and fellow Trustees in overseeing the strategic direction of the charity.
- Ensure the organisation complies with its legal and charitable obligations.
- Monitor potential risks to the charity and contribute to good governance.
- Provide advice and guidance to staff and help ensure they are supported in fulfilling their roles.
- Attend quarterly trustee meetings and contribute to decision-making.
Time Commitment
- Minimum of 4 meetings per year, plus occasional email communications and preparation.
- Meetings are typically held in Dereham (travel expenses reimbursed).
Person Specification
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is committed to the aims of the charity and supporting the autistic community.
- Can work well as part of a team and support collective decisions.
- Has a willingness to learn and uphold trustee responsibilities.
- Experience in charity, governance, HR, or finance is helpful but not essential.
