Summary

Our Swaffham shop needs more volunteers on Wednesday and Thursday mornings to encourage customers to buy locally.

Detailed description

Want to get out into the community and do something that will make a difference to local people? Meet new people, make new friends - and help the hospice provide support for local people living with life-shortening conditions.

We're looking for volunteers to help customers with their purchases, sort through newly donated items and keep the shop tidy and attractive. Open Monday to Saturday, we particularly need assistants who are happy to deal with card and cash payments, and can come in on Wednesday and Thursday mornings 10am to 12pm.

This is a friendly shop with a great team of volunteers - and if you're looking to return to paid work, volunteering can help boost your skills and confidence.

About The Norfolk Hospice Tapping House

The Norfolk Hospice is committed to providing outstanding care for people in the local community living with life-shortening illnesses and to their carers, family and friends including bereavement support.
The support provided is tailored to the individual, encompassing their physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs in an understanding, caring and compassionate way, ensuring dignity is maintained throughout.
Care is delivered at the hospice in Hillington, either in the Inpatient Unit, Day Therapy Unit or via one-to-one sessions at the hospice. Care is sometimes provided in people’s own homes.
The current services cost over £2.5 million per year to run; the NHS funds only 32% of this, with the majority coming from the support of local groups, businesses and individuals.
