Summary

Mediation Volunteers - Norfolk SEND

Detailed description

We are currently recruiting volunteer Mediators for our SEND (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities) Mediation Service, which is being expanded, as of September 2025, into Norfolk. You will be volunteering remotely and /or face to face. As such, you must have access to either a laptop or a computer and be able to use either Zoom or Teams.

Our volunteer Mediators act as the Mediator in the mediation sessions to support both parents/caregivers and the local authority/ education provider to agree on an Educational Plan for the young person in terms of SEND.

The SEND Mediation Service operates 5 days a week, Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm. We are looking for volunteers to commit between half a day to 1 day a week, within these operating hours. The ability to offer set days and times each week is advantageous, but not a mandatory requirement, as we understand people need flexibility to volunteer in their own time.

Right now, we are looking for individuals who already hold a Mediation Practitioner’s Certificate or Level 3 NCFE in Mediation. Ideally, it would be great if you have completed the separate SEND specific training/element in addition, allowing you to act as a SEND Mediator, however if you do not have this yet but you are willing to complete it, we still encourage you to apply!

We would love to hear from you!
