Summary
The Green Team will be developing a beautiful community garden at the historic thatched Great Yarmouth Ice House and keeping the grounds looking great!
Detailed description
The Ice House is a Grade II listed building of brick construction with a thatched roof, once one of a pair, and now the only one of its kind left in the country. It's history is intertwined with the borough, its fishing industry and the railway. Out There have a vision and also significant funding to transform it into a National Centre for Outdoor Arts and Circus.
Work is now underway to further restore and prepare this landmark building for it's new exciting role. As part of this development, there will be a community garden in the outdoor space beside Haven Bridge.
The Green Team will be:
- Developing a community garden/green space in the outdoor grounds of the building
- Maintaining the garden and planted areas in the grounds of The Ice House
- Keeping the outdoor and indoor areas of The Ice House free of litter and monitoring and maintaining recycling points
Out There Arts is a supportive environment and you'll get support and guidance (if required) and be part of a friendly team. It could also be a great way of gaining skills and experence, whilst working with a wide variety of people could be incredibly useful.
