Detailed description
The James Paget University Hospital is a vibrant hospital and an amazing place to work, full of caring and compassionate people going the extra mile to ensure that patients have a truly positive experience of care.
As an NHS Trust committed to providing compassionate and high quality care, we play a significant role in the fabric of our local community and strive to nurture and develop our staff. The Paget is big enough for there to be lots going on, with plenty of choices of career path, but also small enough that every individual is valued as a key part of the team.
Volunteer Drivers can support the transfer home of patients, who are independently mobile, whose discharge may be delayed due to waits for hospital transport or family members who cannot support until later in the day.
The Volunteer 'Settle at Home' service can provide support for suitable patients at the time of discharge to ensure they have the necessities they need such as food, heating and equipment.
A Volunteer Driver must have a clean full driving license.
