At Change Grow Live you will be working with people to help them change the direction of their life, grow as an individual, and live life to its full potential.

Detailed description

Making the decision to enter treatment can be an intimidating experience so it’s paramount that we create a welcoming and caring environment which is non-judgmental. Assessment is a key opportunity to engage people, your role will be to listen to our service users to understand their needs and support them to access the right intervention at the right time in a way that best meets their needs. You will advising service users about the options that are available to them both within the service and the wider community and offering them appropriate, knowledge, advice and equipment to enable them to keep themselves safe. You will be provided with all the skills, knowledge, training and support to undertake the role.

Responsibilities

  • Support the team in completing triage assessments for those entering services
  • Provide service users with information on the treatment/options available to them both face to face and via the telephone
  • Support service users to access treatment and support
  • Ensure the accurate and timely recording of client data and information in order that the service operates within its requirements.
  • Assist and carry out appropriate screening processes including urine, saliva t tests and Dry Blood Spot tests.
  • Provide service users with advice and information to keep themselves self
  • Signpost and refer service users to support within the community

In carrying out the above duties the post holder will:

  • To help Change Grow Live fulfil its role in offering the best service to our clients.
  • To perform your volunteering role to the best of your ability.
  • To follow the Change Grow Live’s procedures and standards, including health and safety and equal opportunities, in relation to our staff, volunteers and clients.
  • To maintain the confidential information of Change Grow Live and of our clients; adhering to Change Grow Live’s policies and procedures
  • To meet the time commitments and standards which have been mutually agreed and to give reasonable notice so other arrangements can be made when this is not possible.

 

Education Knowledge and Experience:

  • Ability to work with professional boundaries
  • A non-judgmental attitude
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality

The successful post holder will need to volunteer in this role 3 days a week.
