Detailed description
As a Marketing, Communications and Events Support Volunteer, you will play an instrumental role in supporting the team to maintain our social media presence. This will include promoting local initiatives, providing harm reduction advice, and updating people of any service changes. You will also play a key role in the development and growth of our social media presence. This could include exploring additional platforms and being creative and innovative with how we deliver our content. You would play a key role in supporting the preparation and delivery of events.
This is an ideal role for someone who wants to gain experience whilst supporting a service to grow and maintain its social media platforms and local presence. You will be lead by the Marketing team and given training around our service to support you in your role. You can really make a difference by helping us to engage with people across Norfolk.
Responsibilities
- Support the day to day updates/posting of information on social media pages.
- Manage our multiple social media platforms.
- Support the team to create and post useful and creative content that will engage current service users and grow our presence.
- Brainstorm, research and map the early stages of campaigns to support strategic thinking and planning.
- Support the preparation and delivery of events whether internal engagement activities or external facing events.
- Lead on the development of social media platforms and new campaigns.
- Keep up to date on awareness dates, community events and campaigns, and support to manage schedules.
- Use social media to gain feedback to help grow and improve our service.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Education Knowledge and Experience:
- Ability to work with professional boundaries
- Excellent organisational skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to liaise and work in partnership with a wide range of professionals and agencies.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and creating content
- Experience of managing and maintaining social media posts
- Ideally able to volunteer at least 2 days a week.
