Get Me Out The Four Walls is looking for more Trustees to join the board.

Detailed description

Get Me Out The Four Walls offers peer support and informal social meets for parents and carers, living in Norfolk and Suffolk to overcome social isolation. Our informal social meets are organised by our team of volunteer Ambassadors. We offer support through information, advice, and guidance. We utilise the local network of voluntary sector and professional organisations to signpost parents and carers towards additional support. The GMOTFW hub based in Lakenham, but open to the Norwich and Norfolk wide community, offers a safe, welcoming space for parents with babies and young children to connect with others with Peer Support available for those experiencing poor perinatal mental health.


Our main Charity purpose is 'To reduce social isolation and improve access to well being and mental health services for parents and carers'


We are looking for an additional Trustees to join our existing board of Trustees.


Currently the full Board of Trustees attend a Zoom meeting once a month, with smaller subgroup meetings taking place with staff more regularly.


All Trustees are responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity and developing the Organisation's aims, objectives and goals in accordance with the governing document and the legal and regulatory guidelines. 


Main Responsibilities:

  • To ensure the charity and its staff work within the guidelines of the sector and in accordance with the governing document.
  • To determine the overall direction and strategy of the organisation and its future.
  • To uphold the charity's policies and procedures and act at all times in the interest of the charity and our service users.
  • To oversee the charity's finances and accounts and ensure funds are being allocated efficiently
  • To meet with and communicate with board of trustees regularly

About Get Me Out The Four Walls

Get Me Out The Four Walls offers informal peer support to parents in Norfolk who may be experiencing isolation and/or postnatal mental illness. It is our aim to provide friendly peer support by hosting social meets within the community, hosted by our volunteer parent Ambassadors who are passionate about helping parents to connect and make friends.
