SummaryReconnect with nature and each other in Grapes Hill Community Garden!
Join us in the garden for our new Community Roots project!
Reconnect with nature, take part in relaxing activities and spend time together in your community garden.
Activities will incude engaging with the senses & mindfulness, creative activites using natural materials, herbal workshops and a chance to simply be together! Please see below for the August programme.
Community Roots sessions are open to anyone local to the garden and will run weekly from 5pm - 6:30pm every Wednesday (starting 3rd August). Spaces are free and snacks will also be provided.
We currently have capacity for 10 - 15 people per session so booking is required. To book a place please visit the Eventbrite booking page (you can find this in the RSVP section of this listing) or sign up in person in the garden. If you have any queries about the project or booking a space please contact us via contact @ grapeshillcommunitygarden .org
Participants will also have the opportunity to lead sessions, building confidence and skills sharing in the local community.
Getting thereThe garden is at the bottom of Grapes Hill, behind the yellow St Benedicts View building. There is limited parking so we advise finding us by walking/cycling (bike racks available). Taxis are also able to drop off at the garden entrance via Valentine Street/Golding Place.
About Grapes Hill Community Garden
The garden is looked after by Grapes Hill Community Garden Group (charity) but is fully led by the local community.
The garden is mainly edible, with trees, fruits, flowers, herbs and even some beautiful community art.
We host courses and workshops in the garden, often with free or subsidised places. The Grapes Hill Community Garden Group also runs several events during the year including live music, nature themed events, community picnics and Celebrations of International Culture.
We run volunteer sessions every Wednesday from 2pm - 4pm and every other Sunday from 1pm - 3pm (with a Family Group from 3pm - 5pm). Anyone is welcome, no experience necessary! We provide tools and gloves. Come along to spend time in nature, connect with others and share skills!
We also offer raised beds to rent to grow your own vegtables on an annual basis from as little as £5 a year.
