Summary

Train to be a sighted guide for someone locally living with sight-loss, helping them to do something within the community that you both enjoy.

Detailed description

Looking for volunteers across Norfolk! My Sighted Guide is a service we offer that allows volunteers to become sighted guides. You will undergo training and learn to safely guide someone with sight loss, navigating environments and building self-confidence – all whilst increasing social interaction with those who may not otherwise wish to leave their home.

As well as promoting mobility, our volunteer sighted guiding service can build confidence and improve social interactions by:

· improving independence, confidence and ability to get out and about

· enabling participation in social, leisure and fitness activities of your choice

·  creating new friendships and connections within the community

Full training is provided and travel expenses are covered as part of the role.
