Summary
Our mentoring project is designed for young people who have additional challenges in their life and need some support to become confident moving forward in lifeDetailed description
We are working with young people aged 13 - 25 with additional needs on this project. Our aim is to support their journey through school and beyond and help them grow in confidence to consider things like volunteering, youth clubs and work experience. For our older mentees it may also be help with career ideas or choosing college courses.
It’s a great opportunity to gain training and development whilst supporting a young person using your own professional and life experiences. Our volunteer mentors are matched by their knowledge and experience to the specific needs of the young person and offer on average two sessions per month on a face to face basis.
In addition to the Volunteer Passport training the following workshops will be delivered as part of the induction.
ü Mental Health awareness
ü Understanding an EHCP
ü Coaching skills
ü A young person’s journey in to work or further education
Mentors will also get an enhanced DBS check and be fully supported with meetups and 1-1's, and we have a small bursary for help with travel if needed.
