Volunteers are based in Telephone, Children’s ED, TrolleyBay, Older Person’s ED, Minor Injur, Rapid Assessment, Ambulatory, Streaming, Mental Health &HomelessDetailed description
Tasks include handling telephone enquiries, taking belongings and messages from relatives to patients, way finding for those coming into ED for appointments, car parking validation, transferring and escorting around ED and x-ray, updating the wait time boards, supporting the queue to book in, calling patients through from the waiting areas, finding wheelchairs, topping up stock, offering refreshments, cleaning equipment, taking those that are discharged back round to the main ED department, finding and cleaning of beds, providing companionship, completing patient belonging forms, labelling property, supporting at meal times, handing out leaflets, gathering feedback from patients about their experience with us and keeping them well informed.
This is a fun and rewarding opportunity with no two days ever the same!
